This levada is a nice alternative to the more famous (and crowded) ones starting from Rabaçal. It ends with a rewarding waterfalls and the length is doable with kids.

What to Expect on the Trail

The trail follows a levada and goes through the Laurissilva forrest so it has a lot of shade. At the end you arrive at the spring of Levada do Alecrim where you can refresh yourself at the ‘Dona Beja’ lake, which feeds the Lagoa do Vento waterfall

Paths are wide and there a fences at challenging parts, so safe to go with kids..

Parking & Logistics

Parking at Rabaçal is always a challenge as it’s the starting point of 5 PR trails, so arrive on time (prefarably before 9AM). Book your slot here.
