Our top-5 waterfalls in Madeira
Madeira is often called the ‘Hawaii of Europe’ and we have to admit, the comparison makes very much sense. Besides the many viewpoints and dramatic cliffs, there are many waterfalls in Madeira. In the center of the island there are mountains close to 2000 meters, in combination with the Laurissilva forest this leads to a constant flow of water. Here’s our top 5, please be aware that during the summer there is less rainfall so the waterfalls are less powerful compared to the other seasons.
